FLOODLIGHT HELPS SYFY’S 'RESIDENT ALIEN' TAKE OFF WITH VIEWERS

Pretending to be human was the least of ALAN TUDYK’s problems as an alien hiding in plain sight in SYFY’s new series ‘RESIDENT ALIEN’. To be guaranteed future seasons of the series, it needed to be a hit. That’s where Floodlight came in.

Promoting the series has been a year-long project for Floodlight, leading to the show's first episode being watched by about 2.2 million viewers; with the second episode reaching about 2.65 million.

The first promo written, produced, edited & mixed by Floodlight launched in February of 2020 when the show was set for a summer premiere.

The take, tone, and copywriting of Floodlight’s promo was well-received by SYFY’s brand creative team and helped set the groundwork for the marketing of the series moving forward.

Pushed from its original launch date due to Covid-19, Floodlight helped write and create ancillary materials to keep the show top of mind among potential fans.

In the Fall of 2020 a new launch date was set. Premiering now in January of 2021, Floodlight got to work creating Launch Spots to promote the premiere.

With positive critic and fan responses, SYFY asked Floodlight to create multiple On-Air Spots that would amplify the growing buzz around the show.

As new episodes aired week-to-week, SYFY was looking for a fun way to keep fans of the series engaged while also catching up viewers who had yet to watch the series. Floodlight created a series of 60-second Recap Spots that leaned in on the off-kilter sense of humor of the show.

With millions of viewers tuning in, SYFY renewed ‘RESIDENT ALIEN’ for a second season. Floodlight and all of its team members were thrilled to be a part of this amazing series.
